Kirill Sokolov’s “They Will Kill You” Receives Critical Reviews

Russian filmmaker Kirill Sokolov has made a striking Hollywood entrance with his latest feature, They Will Kill You, which garnered significant acclaim following its premiere at the SXSW festival. Currently, the film boasts a solid 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, aggregated from a dozen initial reviews.

Critics have described the flick as “delightfully unhinged,” frequently drawing parallels to the high-octane energy of John Wick. Zazie Beetz earns high marks for her compelling portrayal and prowess in the film’s many action sequences. Stylistically, reviewers have likened the project to a blend of Kill Bill and Ready or Not, highlighting its relentless pace and creative execution.

Despite the praise, some critics noted that the narrative loses a bit of momentum toward the climax, struggling to fully sustain its white-knuckle intensity until the credits roll.

They Will Kill You is scheduled for its international theatrical debut on March 27.
