Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Creator Says AI Is Already Used Widely in Game Development
Gamers who oppose artificial intelligence may find it difficult to enjoy new releases, as surprises could lurk everywhere.
Specialists currently use artificial intelligence openly for game development. However, certain players react to this with aggression, immediately writing off a project as “AI slop” if they notice any signs or mentions of AI.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II creator Daniel Vavra recently explained that “all developers” now use AI, with some simply choosing to stay quiet about it while players fail to notice.
He also noted that boycotting his projects over his stance on AI is not possible:
Just so you know: I don’t work at any studio. I’m not making any game. So you have nobody to boycott, guys 🙂 I’m retired now, drinking whiskey and having a great time, so I don’t care. This whole AI situation is really funny. A very vocal group of people hate it, and absolutely every developer is scared to death that they’ll pounce on them, so everyone swears up and down that they definitely don’t use any AI. And what is reality? Of course, EVERYONE uses it! Every single one! Absolutely every developer from the many companies I’ve talked to over the past year uses AI.

Daniel Vavra explained that programmers can no longer accomplish anything without artificial intelligence. According to him, developers build AI tools for practically everything:
AI can generate high-quality character models, helps animators, and is used by concept artists, 3D artists, writers, and designers… Experiments, copywriting, brainstorming, concepts… Even people who don’t know how to code use it to build tools that programmers never had time for. And [artificial intelligence] is used for AI—for NPC AI 🙂
Daniel Vavra is currently experimenting with the NVIDIA DLSS 5 library, much like many PC gamers. He really enjoys how the technology improves the visual quality in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
