“Kholod” Premieres Online
The gripping thriller series “Kholod” (Cold), starring Lyubov Aksyonova, has officially premiered on Russian streaming platforms.
The narrative follows Zhenya Plotnikova, a reserved wife and mother who finds herself the victim of a grave injustice. After being wrongfully imprisoned for a tragic car accident that claimed the lives of her husband and six-year-old daughter, she discovers that the true perpetrators—wealthy, well-connected youths—have evaded consequences entirely. Driven by grief and fury, Zhenya orchestrates a prison break, determined to take matters into her own hands and exact vengeance.
The ensemble cast also features Larisa Guzeeva, Pyotr Fyodorov, Linda Lapinsh, and others. This series serves as a modern-day reimagining of Alexandre Dumas’ classic, “The Count of Monte Cristo,” and is slated to run for eight episodes in its debut season.
