Kevin Bacon Exorcises Demons in the Directorial Debut of the “Mortal Kombat 2” Writer
Kevin Bacon is set to star in the upcoming horror-thriller “Summoner,” a project from Amazon MGM Studios.
Bacon will portray Jefferson Haddock, an exorcist summoned to a secluded safe house—part of the witness protection program—to confront a malevolent demonic entity. The film marks the directorial debut of Jeremy Slater, the creative mind behind scripts for “The Umbrella Academy,” “Moon Knight,” and the forthcoming “Mortal Kombat 2.”
The film is being produced by Andy and Barbara Muschietti. “Summoner” is not Bacon’s first brush with the supernatural; in 2025, he starred as a demon hunter in the series “The Bondsman,” which was canceled following its freshman season.
