Kelly Osbourne Writes Heartbreaking Letter to Ozzy Osbourne One Year After His Death: ‘Your Voice Still Guides Me’

A year has passed since the world lost heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, and his daughter, Kelly Osbourne, has marked the somber anniversary with a poignant and deeply personal tribute. Sharing her reflections via Instagram, Kelly offered a window into her ongoing journey of grief.
Alongside a vintage black-and-white photograph of a young Ozzy, Kelly wrote, “My Daddy… Today I sit here beside you in a way I never imagined possible.” She described the profound void his absence has created, noting, “I can still feel your presence in the stillness, the wind, and every melody that catches me off guard. The depth of my love for you is incomparable, and now that love has nowhere to rest but within myself, my son, and my mother. It is a daily heartache, yet the greatest honor of my life.”
Kelly also reflected on the bittersweet reality that her three-year-old son, Sidney—whom she shares with former partner Sid Wilson—will never get to know his grandfather in person. “I see glimpses of you in him every single day—the way he smiles, his spirit, his little mannerisms,” she shared.
Addressing the challenges of the past year, Kelly admitted that the loss fundamentally reshaped her. “This year has broken me in ways I never thought possible,” she confessed. “I took your warnings to heart, and I’ve tried to live by the guidance you gave me. Your voice remains my compass. Until we meet again.”
Ozzy Osbourne, a pioneer of the heavy metal genre, passed away at 76 last July, just weeks after his final performance during a Black Sabbath reunion. His later years were marked by a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease and various health complications.
Since his passing, Kelly has been candid about the difficulties of navigating life without her father. In the months following his death, she frequently pushed back against public scrutiny, particularly regarding her personal life and physical appearance, emphasizing that her focus remains entirely on her family as she processes this immense loss.
