Following the announcement that KATSEYE had to withdraw from the Daisy Chain Fields music festival, band member Megan Skiendiel shared an emotional personal message with fans detailing the reason behind their sudden departure.

The 20-year-old vocalist sustained an ankle sprain during high-energy tour rehearsals earlier in the week. Acting on strict medical guidance to rest and rehabilitate ahead of the band’s broader upcoming tour, the pop sensation and her group officially pulled out of Olivia Rodrigo’s highly anticipated debut benefit concert.

“Yesterday I sprained my ankle during tour rehearsal and my doctors have advised me to stay off it and let it heal so I can be ready for tour,” Skiendiel shared via her personal Instagram Story. “I’m heartbroken to miss Daisy Chain Fields, especially because of everything this festival stands for. I’m sending all my love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special.”

She concluded her note on an optimistic note, adding, “It’s going to be such an amazing day, and I can’t wait to see everyone out on tour.”

KATSEYE was initially slated to perform on an eclectic, entirely female-led roster curated by Rodrigo. The festival bill includes major acts such as Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Garbage, and The Breeders, alongside headliner Olivia Rodrigo and special guest appearances by icons Stevie Nicks, Karen O, and Sarah McLachlan. All event proceeds are directed toward initiatives advocating for women’s and girls’ rights, notably Planned Parenthood and the Center for Reproductive Rights.

Following KATSEYE’s withdrawal, festival organizers confirmed that rising singer-songwriter Devon Again had been tapped to fill the open performance slot. Embracing the opportunity with enthusiasm, Devon expressed solidarity in the comments: “KATSEYE I LOVE U MEGAN I HOPE YOU HEAL BEAUTIFULLY DAISY CHAIN I PROMISE TO SING MY HEART OUT FOR U.”

The lineup change marks another turn in a whirlwind season for the group. KATSEYE has recently been performing as a quartet, following temporary hiatuses announced by Sophia and Manon to prioritize their health and well-being.

Despite these setbacks, the global girl group continues to experience massive commercial momentum. KATSEYE recently clinched the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with their dynamic five-track extended play, WILD, which generated over 170,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its debut frame.

Reflecting on the chart triumph, the band took to social media to celebrate the milestone with their dedicated fan base: “EYEKONS, this is so surreal!! Thank you for showing WILD so much love.”
