KATSEYE Member Megan Shows Bruised Ankle Following Sprain That Forced Group Withdrawal From Daisy Chain Fields

Following KATSEYE canceling its performance at Daisy Chain Fields because Megan sprained her ankle a few days earlier, the star displayed her injury to fans on Weverse during a Tuesday (Sept. 1) livestream.

While talking with bandmates Yoonchae and Lara in a hotel room, Megan asked, “Should I show how swollen my ankle is?”

“I have to show a picture,” she stated. “It was the size of a tennis ball, guys. It was bad.”

The 20-year-old Hawaii native displayed photos of her injured left ankle, which appeared red and enlarged compared to her right.

“My ankle was purple,” she remarked as Yoonchae and Lara reacted to the images, adding that the sprained ankle has returned to its normal color while remaining slightly swollen.

KATSEYE was scheduled to perform at Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural charity festival on Aug. 29 in Irvine, California, but announced two days prior that it withdrew from the lineup due to Megan’s injury. The performer addressed fans in an individual statement on her Instagram Story, writing, “I sprained my ankle during tour rehearsal and my doctors have advised me to stay off it and let it heal so I can be ready for tour.”

“I’m heartbroken to miss Daisy Chain Fields, especially because of everything this festival stands for,” she added at the time. “I’m sending all my love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special.”

Alt-pop singer Devon Again replaced KATSEYE at the festival, while Megan, Yoonchae and Lara appeared on stage briefly to greet the crowd and introduce Baby2Baby, a charity benefiting from the event’s proceeds.

The girl group launched the Wildworld Tour on Tuesday in Dublin. Four of the six members performed, as Manon has been on hiatus since February and Sophia stepped away from the band temporarily in August.

KATSEYE’s new EP, WILD, debuted atop the Billboard 200, giving the band its first No. 1 on the chart.
