Despite withdrawing from their scheduled performance due to a sudden injury, global pop sensation KATSEYE still made a memorable appearance at Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival.

Three members of the group—Yoonchae, Lara, and Megan—made a surprise appearance on stage Saturday afternoon (August 29). Megan had recently sustained an ankle sprain during rehearsals, which unfortunately forced the group to cancel their full musical set. However, the trio stepped out just before Devon Again—the artist who filled their vacant time slot—to introduce Baby2Baby, a remarkable nonprofit organization dedicated to supplying children experiencing poverty with essential items such as diapers and clothing.

Addressing the crowd about their last-minute lineup change, Megan shared her heartfelt regrets: We’re genuinely heartbroken that we can’t perform for you today, as my ankle is currently out of commission.

However, our enthusiasm and support certainly aren’t, she continued warmly. We are sending all our love to Olivia and the incredible community she has cultivated here at Daisy Chain Fields. We are so grateful just to be present and show our support. We love you, Olivia, and thank you for allowing us to be a small part of this wonderful event. The group first announced on Thursday that Megan’s ankle sprain would prevent them from performing at Rodrigo’s charity festival.

My medical team has strongly advised me to rest and allow it to heal properly so I’ll be fully recovered and ready for our upcoming tour, Megan explained on Friday.

This bittersweet festival appearance in Irvine, California, immediately follows a massive career milestone for KATSEYE, who recently claimed their very first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with their hit EP WILD.

Currently, KATSEYE’s active roster features Yoonchae, Lara, Megan, and Daniela (though Daniela was not present for Saturday’s appearance). Meanwhile, members Manon and Sophia are taking temporary leaves of absence to prioritize their physical wellness and mental health, respectively.

On Friday, festival organizer Olivia Rodrigo announced a staggering triumph: ticket sales for the single-day charity event successfully raised $10 million. All proceeds will be distributed directly among 10 prominent women-focused nonprofit organizations, including Planned Parenthood, the Center for Reproductive Rights, Baby2Baby, the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, the National Institute for Reproductive Health, and the National Women’s Law Center.
