Jhené Aiko, Kendrick Lamar, Bleachers, and Dove Cameron Featured in New Music Friday Guide

Jhené Aiko released her first album since 2020’s Chilombo, Bleachers issued a new single from the Practical Magic 2 soundtrack, and Dove Cameron released the lead single for her debut album.

Bleachers, “Caught Myself Believing”

During the rock band’s BLEACHERS FOREVER Troubadour takeover, which includes five nights at the Los Angeles venue, Bleachers released a new track included on the Practical Magic 2 soundtrack. Lyndsey Havens noted that the song sounds distinct enough to stand on its own and would fit into the act’s live show. — LYNDSEY HAVENS

Dove Cameron, “When In Rome”

Dove Cameron released “When In Rome,” the lead single from her debut album. The track draws inspiration from Cameron’s relationship with Måneskin frontman Damiano David, who is Italian with jet black hair. Cameron sings about getting married and building a home in the summertime. — L.H.

Rachel Chinouriri, “Make believe”

Following her Daisy Chain Fields festival set, alternative-pop artist Rachel Chinouriri shared “Make believe,” the second single from her upcoming second album, i think i spoke too soon, scheduled for release on Oct. 16. Cage the Elephant, “Dying In Reverse”

Following their summer signing to Big Loud Rock and the chart performance of “Beaches In Tennessee,” Cage the Elephant released “Dying In Reverse.” Vocalist Matt Shultz stated that the song is about a fresh start, a rebirth, the death of the ego, renewing the mind and heart, and turning perspective away from the self to view life through love and connect to a deeper purpose. — L.H.

Slayyyter, “Crank 2”

During the opening night of her sold-out WOR$T GIRL IN THE WORLD TOUR, Slayyyter debuted four new songs, including “BRAND NEW CHANEL$” and “CRANK 2.” The grunge-pop track was released on the same day. — L.H.
