Jeffrey Dean Morgan willing to play Arthur Morgan for free in a Red Dead Redemption 2 adaptation
Although Rockstar Games has not announced plans to adapt the Red Dead Redemption series for the screen, a star of Supernatural and The Walking Dead has already voiced interest in taking the leading role.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, known for portraying Negan in The Walking Dead and John Winchester on Supernatural, told fans at a meet-and-greet that he would be open to playing Arthur Morgan — the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2.
“It’s actually being talked about. Westerns are my favorite genre — there’s nothing that tops them. My son plays the game, and it’s absolutely incredible. I’d do it for free.”
While Rockstar Games has not formally announced a film or television adaptation of Red Dead Redemption, the series’ cinematic storytelling and compelling characters have long piqued the interest of both fans and producers. Should the studio move forward with a screen version, it already has at least one willing candidate.
