Jason Statham will headline Viva La Madness, to be directed by Guy Ritchie. The film is derived from a comic adaptation inspired by J. J. Connolly’s novel Layer Cake and centers on a London dealer known only as X, who survives by running cons and repeatedly risks falling into the clutches of dangerous criminals.
A 2004 adaptation of Layer Cake starred Daniel Craig. Producers later proposed a sequel nine years afterward, but that project never moved forward.
Production on Viva La Madness is scheduled to begin in 2026. No release date has been announced.
