Jason Kelce Says Taylor Swift Has Helped Bring More Women and Girls to Football
Appearing on New Heights with Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson — Nov. 24
Having watched his brother Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift unfold from close range, Jason Kelce says one of the most meaningful outcomes has been how their story has connected families and expanded the NFL’s audience.
On the Nov. 24 episode of New Heights — hosted by Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson — Jason praised Swift’s influence in drawing more women and girls to football. Thompson noted the league’s rising female viewership since Swift began attending Chiefs games, and Jason reflected on the warm messages he’s received from fans about the change.
“That’s one of the coolest things,” Jason added, explaining how he’s heard from both fathers and daughters who found a new shared interest because of Swift’s presence at games.
Travis agreed, observing that many young girls who initially tuned in to see Swift have since become genuine football fans, creating special moments between them and their parents.
For lots of Swift’s fans, what started as watching Kansas City Chiefs games to spot the pop star has grown into a sincere appreciation for the sport itself. The ripple effect extends beyond the stadium: media figures like Thompson and Andrews also played a small part — famously nudging Swift to give Travis a chance on their Calm Down podcast in 2023.
