Battlefield Studios has officially unveiled the 2026 content roadmap for Battlefield 6. This update arrives as a welcome commitment to both the dedicated player base that has supported the game since its debut and the longtime veterans who have defined the series for years.
The headline feature arrives this July with the launch of Season 4, which introduces a heavy focus on naval warfare to both Battlefield 6 and Redsec. Players can expect fully functional aircraft carriers with operational flight decks, alongside a suite of maritime vehicles and specialized combat challenges. Perhaps most intriguing is the implementation of a new dynamic wave system, designed to let tactical players utilize the water for high-stakes ambushes and creative approaches.
To support this push into open-water combat, the developers are bringing back Wake Island—one of the franchise’s most iconic battlegrounds—for its historic tenth appearance. Furthermore, a brand-new Pacific-themed map, Tsuru Reef, will join the rotation, with early testing slated for Battlefield Labs in the very near future.

First is “Railway to Golmud,” a reimagining of the classic Battlefield 4 location, now situated in Tajikistan. Philippe Ducharme, executive producer at Motive, notes that this massive layout—roughly four times the scale of Mirak Valley—was crafted specifically to address player requests for grander, more strategic combat spaces with improved aerial opportunities.
Following that, the fan-favorite Battlefield 3 map “Grand Bazaar” returns as “Cairo Bazaar.” Retooled for the current engine, this urban environment focuses on the claustrophobic, high-intensity infantry skirmishes that made the original a staple of the series. Season 3 will also introduce a Solos mode for battle royale, along with ranked Quads for Redsec, with further ranked support rolling out as the development team ensures the matchmaking balance meets the community’s high standards.
Beyond the seasonal content, Battlefield Studios confirmed a host of highly requested quality-of-life improvements scheduled for release throughout the year, including:
- Global Leaderboards
- Traditional Server Browser
- Custom Private Lobbies
- Robust Spectator Mode
- Proximity Voice Chat
- Platoon Integration
- Comprehensive reworks for Sobek and Blackwell Fields
Battlefield 6 Season 3 commences on Tuesday, May 12, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
