Blumhouse and Universal have officially selected the screenwriter for the third installment of the Five Nights at Freddy’s horror franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the script will be crafted by Gary Dauberman, a veteran of the genre celebrated for his contributions to the adaptation of “It,” as well as his extensive work within The Conjuring and Annabelle universes.
Dauberman now joins the creative team behind one of the most commercially successful video game adaptations of recent years.
Reports suggest that Emma Tammi, who helmed the first two entries, is expected to return to the director’s chair. Jason Blum and the franchise’s creator, Scott Cawthon, remain attached as producers.
Since its cinematic debut in 2023, the Five Nights at Freddy’s series has cemented its status as a blockbuster powerhouse in the realm of horror, driving the studio to rapidly expand the franchise.
