It Turns Out Escape from Tarkov Is the Most Popular “New” PC Game in 2025
Analysts report a significant surge in engagement for the prominent extraction shooter.
Market research firm NewZoo recently unveiled its comprehensive gaming industry outlook, placing a spotlight on the breakthrough titles of 2025.
Following the official 1.0 launch of Escape from Tarkov last year, the title was categorized as a “new” release in the report—where Battlestate Games’ extraction shooter proved to be an immense success.
Statistics provided by NewZoo indicate that Escape from Tarkov captured approximately 1.7% of the total cumulative playtime across the entire PC gaming market.
This metric allowed the game to outperform high-profile competitors like Battlefield 6, which held 0.8%, and Arc Raiders at 0.6%. Notably, Tarkov achieved these figures despite its rivals entering the market prior to its formal full-version debut.
