Inscryption Developers Announce Mobile Version, Answer Questions About Sequel and Add-Ons

Daniel Mullins Games has announced a mobile version of the card-based horror game Inscryption, which is meant to introduce the game to a new audience. The studio has not yet revealed a release window or distribution model.

Some fans have spent years asking the developers for “something more.” Alongside the announcement, the studio addressed players who regularly request expansions, new cards, and new mechanics:

“We hear you, and we deeply appreciate your desire to see more of Inscryption. However, we consider the game a complete work, both in terms of story and gameplay. We don’t want to add content just for the sake of quantity or to cash in on the game’s success. It is incredibly important to us to preserve the atmosphere, individuality, and experience that made Inscryption special. After all, it wasn’t only the gameplay that moved you, but also the memories this remarkable journey left behind.”

For now, fans should not expect new add-ons. The developers do not rule out a return to the Inscryption universe in the future, though, and they left a hint: “But who knows what else awaits the Inscryption universe…”

The team is currently focused on Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, a sequel to its 2016 puzzle game. In the original, the player is trapped inside an arcade machine created by the devil and tries to escape by tampering with its code. In the sequel, players must save their soul from the gods of the underworld by playing and hacking their games. Pony Island 2: Panda Circus is scheduled to release on Steam on April 27, 2027.
