The creative minds behind one of the most compelling science fiction series of recent years are embarking on an ambitious new endeavor. Hulu is currently developing an adaptation of Koren Shadmi’s graphic novel Shifter, spearheaded by Severance star Adam Scott alongside writers Ezra Claytan Daniels and Eli Jorne.
Set in the near future, the narrative explores a world where illicit technology allows for instantaneous physical transformation. This breakthrough has birthed a clandestine market of specialists capable of morphing clients into entirely different individuals. The protagonist, Rosa, emerges as one of the most sought-after “shifters,” yet she soon discovers that the constant adoption of foreign personas threatens to erode her own sense of self.
The screen adaptation is being crafted by Daniels and Jorne. Jorne’s impressive portfolio includes his work on The Walking Dead: Dead City, and he is also part of the production team for the third season of Severance.
