In Palworld, High Quality Pal Oil is an essential resource for crafting mid-to-late game gear, ranging from firearms and polymer to sophisticated assembly lines. While you won’t stumble upon this material in the beginner zones, you can venture into tougher biomes to hunt for it or establish a passive supply chain by utilizing specific Pals at your base.

Below, we break down the most efficient ways to secure High Quality Pal Oil.

How to obtain High Quality Pal Oil in Palworld

You can acquire High Quality Pal Oil as a loot drop from several specific Pals:

• Woolipop
• Dumud
• Digtoise
• Relaxaurus
• Quivern

While other species may also drop this resource, these are the most reliable sources. We found that hunting Digtoise and Dumud in the desert biome yields the best results:

Note that exploring the desert requires heat-resistant gear to prevent damage from environmental exposure.

As you progress into the mid-20s, hunting Relaxaurus becomes a viable strategy. Their habitat is shown below:

Be cautious when engaging Relaxaurus, as they pack a significant punch. They are often preferred for farming due to their proximity to the Ascetic Falls fast-travel point, which provides much easier access than the desert zones.

You’ll receive the oil whether you capture or defeat these Pals. To maximize your efficiency, consider catching them for the initial loot, then using the Meat Cleaver (unlocked at level 12) to butcher them for a second, guaranteed drop.

How to farm High Quality Pal Oil passively

Beyond active hunting, you can automate your oil production by assigning a Dumud to your Ranch. Simply pick up the Pal and drop it inside the Ranch zone. In our testing, these lumbering, brown fish-like creatures consistently produced oil flasks every few minutes.

If you need massive quantities quickly, stick to hunting; however, keeping a few Dumuds in your Ranch ensures a steady, infinite supply of oil. You can even assign multiple Dumuds to the same Ranch to boost your yield.

If you need to locate Dumuds for your workforce, they can be found north of Windscream Valley. Alternatively, you can find a level-14 Dumud boss on the Isle of Murmurs in the northwest. While this boss fight is a reliable encounter, it can be challenging for newer players without a flying mount.

High Quality Pal Oil crafting recipes

This resource is a fundamental component for advanced weaponry, including the Musket, the Makeshift Handgun, and the Weapons Assembly Line. Crucially, you will need vast amounts of it to create Polymer (two oil + one sulfur), which is a bottleneck component for high-tier firearms.

Polymer is also vital for high-end utility structures like the Electric Furnace, the Refrigerator, and various Circuit Boards. Without a constant flow of High Quality Pal Oil, your industrial progress will come to a halt.
