Prime 1 Studio will release a collector’s diorama for fans of Godzilla Minus One in 2028, capturing the historic encounter between the famous kaiju and the minesweeper Shinsei-maru.

Prime 1 Studio has opened preorders for the Godzilla vs. Shinsei-maru diorama based on Godzilla Minus One. It is currently available to order for $1,899. The production run is limited to 350 pieces.

After sinking military vessels, Godzilla heads toward Japan. By government order, the Shinsei-maru is dispatched to intercept the monster and slow its advance. The diorama draws inspiration from the pursuit off Ogasawara, which serves as one of the key scenes near the beginning of the film. Careful composition work conveys the presence of a colossal creature beyond human understanding alongside the will to live embodied by the small minesweeper.

Godzilla’s body tearing through the water is recreated in its entirety with high detail, allowing viewers to examine the creature from all angles. The eyes glisten with moisture and appear filled with vitality. The skin above and below the waterline is painted in contrasting tones, while splashes and bubbles emphasize the monster’s motion.

The Shinsei-maru receives equal attention to detail, ranging from its weathered wooden hull to the crew members fighting back against the beast with machine gun fire and mines. Even the broad wake left by the vessel during sharp maneuvers echoes the themes of survival and resistance explored in the film.

The base resembles a seabed strewn with steep rock formations. Special care was taken with how Godzilla connects to the stand, ensuring a natural transition for the movement of his massive body through the water. A nameplate featuring the movie logo is also included.

The bonus version comes with a display model of deep-sea fish serving as an ominous omen of Godzilla’s approach. Their forms, distorted by rapid decompression, add another narrative detail to the display.

Crafted from polystone and other materials, the diorama measures 49 cm tall, 98 cm wide, and 54 cm deep, with a weight of 8.67 kg. The new product is expected to ship between March and June 2028. Diorama trailers: first, second, third.
