Milestone, the prolific studio behind Screamer and the Hot Wheels Unleashed series, has officially unveiled its latest project: Hot Wheels Infinite Rush. Serving as the ambitious follow-up to 2023’s Turbocharged, this new title is set to accelerate onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on September 24.

The announcement arrived during today’s Summer Game Fest broadcast, accompanied by a dynamic trailer that provides a glimpse into the studio’s evolving vision for the iconic toy-car franchise. Unlike previous entries, this installment appears to trade traditional track-based circuits for an expansive, open-world environment. The footage showcases a diverse array of locales, high-octane vehicular variety, and dramatic set pieces—including a cinematic sequence featuring a giant, ape-like obstacle that suggests a much larger scope than fans might expect.

Milestone has built a sterling reputation for crafting precise and engaging racing experiences. From the stylish, anime-infused chaos of Screamer to the tight, satisfying mechanics of Unleashed and Unleashed 2, the team consistently proves they understand the rhythm of a great racer. With the transition to an open-world sandbox, the developer is clearly aiming to push the franchise into new, unexplored territory.

Fortunately, the wait to get behind the wheel is short. Hot Wheels Infinite Rush hits shelves and digital storefronts on September 24.
