Court documents from PlayStation and Tencent indicate that Sony’s producers intend to release a film adaptation of the Horizon video game series in 2027. According to PlayStation head Asad Qizilbash, the project’s screenplay is already finished, and a director is currently being sought.
Principal photography for the adaptation is scheduled to begin in 2026.
Although the release year may still shift, the prevailing sense is that Sony remains resolute about completing the project.
