Hit the Jackpot: Reddit User Finds 40 DDR5 Modules Worth $7,000 in a $100 Return Box
While liquidation pallets are often a gamble, this particular haul turned out to be a genuine goldmine.
A Reddit user recently shared an incredible story of fortune after purchasing a batch of Amazon return pallets. According to his post, he effectively “hit the ultimate jackpot.”
The tech enthusiast purchased 25 kilograms of returned Amazon merchandise at a rate of $4 per kilogram, bringing the total cost to just $100. As is common with liquidation lots, these pallets can contain anything from customer returns and warehouse overstock to completely unsold inventory. Buying such bundles is always a roll of the dice; it is not uncommon to find damaged or non-functional hardware inside, making it more of a high-stakes gamble than a guaranteed profit venture for most.
However, luck was firmly on the side of the buyer this time. Upon unboxing the delivery, he discovered 40 individual modules of DDR5 RAM. Each unit was a 16GB Kingston Fury DDR5 stick, which currently retails on Amazon for at least $175 per piece.
Based on current market prices, the total estimated value of this unexpected find is nearly $7,000.
