Control Resonant Includes an Alan Wake Reference Unrelated to Remedy’s Next Game
The studio’s creative lead shared the details.
Control Resonant creative director Mikael Kasurinen said Remedy Entertainment’s new game is not meant to reveal the studio’s plans for future projects. According to him, despite a noticeable Easter egg tied to Alan Wake, the developers wanted the sequel to be a standalone story with a complete ending.
In an interview with Video Games Chronicle, Kasurinen stressed that the team set out to tell a finished story that would not leave players feeling as if the most important events were still to come.
No… To be honest, no. As for Resonant, it was important to me that the game felt self-contained. There’s something in it connected to Alan Wake, but that’s all.

He said Remedy did not want to limit itself to building a setup for future projects while leaving the main story questions unanswered. Kasurinen noted that Control Resonant should have a full beginning, middle, and end, although individual elements of the game can naturally be developed further in the studio’s next projects.
