If you’ve been meaning to check out the It spinoff Welcome to Derry or want to resubscribe ahead of next year’s expanded Game of Thrones lineup, HBO’s Black Friday promotion could be the nudge you need. Through Dec. 1, qualifying customers can enroll in HBO Max’s Basic with Ads tier for $2.99 per month for the first 12 months.

That represents roughly a 70% reduction from the plan’s regular monthly rate of $10.99 (following a recent price hike). The Basic with Ads package allows streaming on two devices simultaneously and supports up to “full HD” playback (1080p).

The deal is open to both new and returning subscribers and is redeemable via HBOMax.com and participating partners, including Apple, Google Play, Roku, Samsung, Xumo and others; Amazon Fire TV customers can also access the offer if they’re new to the service.

Subscribers on the Basic with Ads plan get access to HBO’s original slate. This year’s additions included shows such as Task, It: Welcome to Derry, The Chair Company and The Pitt, alongside season two entries for Peacemaker and The Last of Us. In the coming months the service is expected to add big titles like the Game of Thrones spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and DC Studios’ Lanterns, as well as new seasons of Industry, Hacks, The Pitt, Euphoria and House of the Dragon.

And if you need background entertainment for the holidays, HBO Max still carries seasonal favorites like Elf, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story. For just three dollars a month for the first year, it’s an easy way to keep the family entertained.
