HBO Announces Crossover Between “Mare of Easttown” and “Taskmaster”
A beloved character from the 2021 hit series Mare of Easttown is set to appear in the second season of the crime drama Task, according to an exclusive report by Variety.
Julianne Nicholson is slated to reprise her role as Lori Ross. Nicholson earned an Emmy Award for her poignant portrayal of the protagonist’s closest confidante in Mare of Easttown, which starred Kate Winslet.
Both series were created by Brad Ingelsby and are set against the backdrop of suburban Philadelphia. In the upcoming second season of Task, FBI investigator Tom Brandis, played by Mark Ruffalo, will tackle a high-stakes new case. The cast is further bolstered by the addition of Mahershala Ali, known for his work in True Detective.
Whether Mare of Easttown will officially return for a subsequent season remains uncertain. While Kate Winslet has previously hinted at the possibility, HBO has yet to formally announce a renewal.
