Hacked PS5 Runs Xbox Game Pass and Free-Game Store

Enthusiasts have launched the PSXBOX client for Xbox Cloud Gaming and the Overdrive store on modified PS5 consoles, allowing users to download games like Battlefield 6 and Black Myth: Wukong without paying.

Modified PS5 consoles now feature the alternative Overdrive store for downloading games and add-ons without payment, alongside the PSXBOX application for running Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The Overdrive store resembles a standard digital storefront, replacing prices with file sizes and user ratings. The catalog features Battlefield 6, 007: First Light, Forza Horizon 5, and Black Myth: Wukong. The application also supports downloading DLC.

Another new addition is PSXBOX, a client for Microsoft’s cloud service that enables Xbox Cloud Gaming on Sony’s console. The application supports 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second and the DualSense controller. Users also have access to image settings and streaming parameters.

Enthusiasts have recently been actively experimenting with modified PS5 consoles, previously demonstrating the execution of PS2 and PS3 games before moving on to an alternative store and the Xbox cloud service. However, the actual capabilities and reliability of these new applications have yet to be verified.
