According to TrueAchievements data, Gears of War: E-Day ranks as the second-largest Xbox launch of 2026, reaching an opening player count equal to 67.3% of Forza Horizon 6.

Gears of War: E-Day became the second-biggest Xbox Game Pass release of 2026, beating Halo: Campaign Evolved and Minecraft while trailing Forza Horizon 6.

Developed by The Coalition, the game launched on October 6 and topped the chart of the 40 most popular Xbox games for the week ending October 12. TrueAchievements reported that its debut week attracted 16.6% more players than Minecraft.

The opening audience for Gears of War: E-Day exceeded Halo: Campaign Evolved by 8.6% and Minecraft Dungeons 2 by 164.6%. The game also surpassed Subnautica 2.

At the same time, the launch numbers for E-Day reached only 67.3% of the opening player count for Forza Horizon 6, which remains the largest Xbox launch since at least 2024.

TrueAchievements tracks player activity rather than official sales figures or complete statistics from Microsoft. Nevertheless, the debut figures confirm strong interest in the Gears of War franchise.
