Gwyneth Paltrow to Star in Pandemic Divorce Dramedy

Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow is set to headline the upcoming Netflix original film “Strangers,” according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter.

The project is a cinematic adaptation of attorney Belle Burden’s poignant memoir, Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage. Set during the initial wave of the March 2020 lockdowns, the narrative explores the sudden dissolution of Burden’s 20-year marriage. Faced with an unexpected separation at the height of a global pandemic, she is forced to critically re-examine her past and navigate the daunting process of starting over.

The screenplay is being penned by Heidi Schreck (Nurse Jackie, Billions). In addition to her leading role, Paltrow will produce the film alongside industry veteran Stacey Sher (Erin Brockovich). This announcement follows Paltrow’s recent return to the screen in Marty Supreme, starring opposite Timothée Chalamet.
