Season 2 of Guy Ritchie’s stylish crime drama The Gentlemen arrived on Netflix on Sept. 3. The eight episodes feature chase scenes, shootouts, sets, and schemes. The season centers on Duke Eddie Honniman, played by Theo James, as he tries to balance his noble status with his ambitions as a drug lord. If you want more episodes of the TV show, here are the details regarding the release date and plot of The Gentlemen season 3.

Is The Gentlemen season 3 confirmed?

Netflix and Guy Ritchie announced the renewal in August, about a week before the season 2 premiere.

What is The Gentlemen season 3 about?

Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone) sits with a drink outside with a lake behind him in The Gentlemen season 2

In The Gentlemen season 1, Eddie returns home from serving as a United Nations peacekeeping officer after his father’s death. He discovers a marijuana grow house operating on his family estate. He initially tries to clear his debt to gang leader Bobby Glass, played by Ray Winstone, but eventually dives deeper into the drug trade to restore his estate.

Season 2 brings new schemes. Eddie becomes a hereditary peer in the House of Lords to pass legislation that decriminalizes marijuana, even though Bobby Glass wants to kill the bill. Eddie borrows money from Italian mob boss Marco Moretti, played by Sergio Castellitto, to fund his expansion. When the vote fails, Eddie leverages his estate as collateral to secure a loan from billionaire Fred Johnston, played by Giancarlo Esposito, to pay back Marco Moretti. Bobby Glass then buys the debt from Fred Johnston to gain control over Eddie, believing Eddie is evolving into a worthy successor for his drug empire.

Eddie also marries Marco Moretti’s goddaughter, the Italian Countess Isabella, played by Benedetta Porcaroli. The day after the wedding, she dies in an explosion meant to kill them both. Eddie discovers that his older brother Freddy, played by Daniel Ings, engineered the attack alongside Gospel John Dixon, played by Pearce Quigley, a cocaine dealer avenging his brother from season 1. Freddy’s plot also involves kidnapping his infant nephew to eliminate heirs to the inheritance. Eddie captures Gospel John Dixon with help from a cocaine supplier who works with Bobby Glass’s daughter Susie, played by Kaya Scodelario. Eddie then forces Freddy to kill Gospel John Dixon with a chainsaw.

Season 3 will explore the aftermath of that betrayal and force Eddie to choose between serving as Bobby Glass’s lieutenant and building his own criminal empire. Eddie’s mother told him not to kill Freddy, but trusting his brother again or allowing him home will prove difficult. The rest of Eddie’s family remains uneasy about the volatile business. Viewers can also expect romantic tension between Eddie and Susie now that both characters are single.

What other Guy Ritchie shows are in the works?

The director of Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels continues to develop streaming series. The second season of his Paramount Plus crime drama MobLand premieres on Sept. 18, and that series has already secured a third season renewal. Additionally, a second season of his Prime Video series Young Sherlock is in development.
