Guy Ritchie’s upcoming thriller, In the Grey, has encountered another scheduling setback, with its theatrical debut pushed from April to June. Principal photography for the film was finalized back in 2023.
The ensemble cast boasts high-profile names such as Jake Gyllenhaal, Henry Cavill, Eiza González, and Rosamund Pike. Black Bear is overseeing the film’s domestic distribution in the U.S., though industry whispers suggest the project may require a series of reshoots to polish the final cut.
The narrative of In the Grey revolves around a pair of specialized agents on a high-stakes mission to rescue a negotiator caught in a dangerous predicament. Production took place during the 2023 Hollywood strikes, and while an early 2025 release was once on the table, the film faced a hurdle when its previous distributor, Lionsgate, parted ways with the project shortly before that window.
Ritchie remains remarkably prolific this year, with several other major projects in the pipeline, including the Young Sherlock series, the sophomore season of The Gentlemen, and the feature-length thriller Wife and Dog.
