GTA VI Trailer Outpaces Netflix Films in Popularity Across 87 Countries
The Grand Theft Auto VI presentation on Netflix claimed the number one spot in 87 countries.
Netflix revealed the figures for “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look”: the 27-minute GTA 6 presentation drew 31.1 million views and became the platform’s most popular program last week.
The material remained a Netflix exclusive for only six hours before Rockstar Games published it on YouTube. Between August 27 and August 30, the presentation took first place in 87 of the 93 countries tracked in Netflix’s global rankings.
On YouTube, the video surpassed 17 million views by Tuesday. Because Netflix and YouTube use different counting methods, the results cannot be compared directly.

For comparison, second place among English-language Netflix films went to “The Whispers Behind the Window” with 23.2 million views. GTA VI outperformed it by nearly 8 million views.
The 27-minute presentation was created entirely using footage from the standard PS5 version of the game. Rockstar showcased Jason and Lucia, Vice City, gameplay, and story scenes.
GTA VI will release on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
