GTA VI Rival Paradise MIA for 18 Months Following Controversy
Developer Ultra Games appears to have abandoned Paradise, a free-to-play title billed as a GTA VI competitor featuring AI-driven NPCs, after going silent following a brief playtest a year and a half ago.
Paradise was originally scheduled for an April 2025 release and intended to use artificial intelligence to power NPC interactions. Ultra Games managed to release only a short playable test before stopping all updates about the project.
The studio has not issued a single statement in a year and a half. While the Paradise store page remains active on Steam and the Epic Games Store, the official website is shut down, the Discord server is largely inactive, and the Telegram channel has been deleted.
Even during the playtest launch, players suspected that Paradise might be a front for promoting cryptocurrency. The Epic Games Store listing still states that players will be able to earn $PAR tokens and spend them on clothing and real estate within the game world.
It now appears safe to assume that the project is permanently abandoned. However, it remains unknown whether the developers planned a crypto scheme from the start or dropped the game following the overwhelmingly negative reaction to its initial gameplay.
