GTA VI Doesn’t Intimidate Insomniac; Marvel’s Wolverine Will Release on Schedule

Marvel’s Wolverine is among the most eagerly awaited games of 2026. The new project from Insomniac Games, creators of the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, aims to deliver a grittier, more mature and emotionally charged take on the superhero genre.

The debut trailer made it clear the team isn’t shying away from blood, a darker tone, or a weighty narrative — all presented with the high production values expected of PlayStation exclusives.

Insomniac Games has officially confirmed the title will arrive in fall 2026, despite Grand Theft Auto VI being pushed to November. The studio said its plans remain unchanged and the game is already available to add to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store. While many developers might rethink a release date around GTA VI’s launch, Insomniac isn’t stepping back — players should brace for an intense end to the year.

Developers say more details about Marvel’s Wolverine will be unveiled in spring 2026 during the next State of Play, where fresh gameplay footage and story insights are expected. It appears 2026 will pit two heavyweights against each other — Rockstar and Insomniac — and serve as a measure of the PlayStation brand’s pull.
