GTA 6 Advertisements Appear on New York Billboards, Buses, and Murals

The GTA 6 marketing campaign is currently in full swing. Miami serves as its epicenter, but other major metropolitan areas cannot be ignored.

One of those cities is New York, the largest city on the United States East Coast. Spotify billboards have already appeared there, and now Rockstar Games has started its own promotional push.

Mural in Brooklyn

In the first days of October, work began on a mural featuring the “Jason and Lucia gearing up for a fight” illustration on Wythe Avenue in Brooklyn. Four artists (Ian Potter, Marco Pintando Paredes, Nick Birnie, Omfish) from Colossal Media worked on the project. Colossal Media has partnered with Rockstar Games for over 20 years, dating back to GTA: San Andreas, and its headquarters are located just a block away from the new landmark for New Yorkers and visitors. The work was completed within a week.

After completion, a fan drove a Vapid Police Cruiser replica to inspect the location.

Billboards in Manhattan

Several billboards featuring artwork and the Grand Theft Auto VI cover have been spotted in and around Times Square. Interestingly, the weapons were removed from the cover art in certain locations. It remains unclear why this decision was made or why it was not applied universally. The changes may have depended on who supplied the specific advertising space.

Buses

In addition to static advertisements, mobile advertising can be seen on buses operating throughout the city.
