Gracie Abrams Reacts to ‘Daughter From Hell’ Becoming Her First Billboard 200 No. 1 Album: ‘This Is Nuts’

Gracie Abrams is officially celebrating a monumental career milestone. Fresh off the release of her eagerly anticipated third studio album, the acclaimed pop songstress has captured her very first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with Daughter From Hell—a breathtaking achievement that left the artist completely spellbound.

Taking to her Instagram Stories to share the exciting milestone captured by Billboard, Abrams expressed her genuine disbelief, writing simply, “Whoa thank you so much.”

She continued, “This is nuts and entirely your doing!!! Thank you,” accompanied by a heartfelt red heart emoji.

This chart-topping triumph follows right on the heels of Future holding the crown with The Real Me. Abrams first made her mark on the Billboard 200 back in 2023 with her celebrated debut LP, Good Riddance, which climbed to No. 52. She then made a massive leap forward the following year, surging to No. 2 with her breakthrough sophomore album, The Secret of Us—a project enriched by the deluxe-edition top 10 smash hit “That’s So True.”

According to data from Luminate, Daughter From Hell secured an impressive 124,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. during its debut week. Building on this momentum, Abrams is preparing to hit the road for an extensive arena tour starting this December, bringing the 16-track sonic journey to fans across North America and Europe.

“We’re baaaaaack,” she joyfully announced on Instagram when first revealing the tour dates. “I have missed you and I love you so much!!!!!!!!!!!”

Anchored by the Billboard Hot 100 top 40 sensation “Hit the Wall,” Daughter From Hell reunites Abrams with her longtime creative partner, Aaron Dessner. The album also features deeply personal collaborations with childhood best friend and The Secret of Us co-writer Audrey Hobert on “Minibar,” alongside her partner, Paul Mescal, who lends his artistry to “Imaginary Friend.”

Naturally, the track “Death Wish” has ignited fervent fan theories across social media regarding its inspiration. However, in a recent interview with Billboard, Dessner firmly dispelled rumors linking the song to Taylor Swift.

“It was written at a time when [Gracie] was writing about a friend’s ex navigating a difficult relationship,” Dessner explained shortly after the release of Daughter From Hell. “So it was rooted in that narrative, I believe. Honestly, I wouldn’t even know who that person was.”
