The enchanting fantasy chronicle of the long-lived elf is set to return to the airwaves on January 16.
TOHO Animation has unveiled the primary trailer for the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. The upcoming episodes will feature the opening theme “lulu.” by Mrs. GREEN APPLE, a group previously recognized for their musical contribution to the second season of The Apothecary Diaries.
It was also confirmed that milet will perform the ending theme, “The Story of Us.” This marks a return for the singer, who previously collaborated with the production during its debut season.
Studio Madhouse remains at the helm of the production, albeit with a restructured creative team. Tomoya Kitagawa, who directed individual episodes of the first season, has stepped up as the series director. Meanwhile, Keiichiro Saito, the director of the original run, stays with the project in the role of creative consultant.
The character designs are being handled by a talented trio: Takasemaru (Violet Evergarden), Keisuke Kojima, and Yuri Fujinaki, who reprises her role from the first season.
The new season is scheduled to premiere on January 16. This installment will be more concise than its 28-episode predecessor; while the official episode count has yet to be finalized, preliminary reports suggest a run of 10 to 12 episodes.
