Fortnite Drops New Official Roadmap Ahead of Season’s First Major Update

Now that players have had a chance to dive into Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, Epic Games is gearing up to deliver the first major patch of the season. The developers have officially unveiled their weekly schedule, giving the community a clear preview of what to expect when the upcoming update drops on September 3.

Launched on August 20, Fortnite Override brought a wealth of fresh content, including Battle Pass cosmetics, themed landmarks, and a host of brand-new weaponry. However, with the initial novelty wearing off, Epic Games is stepping in this Thursday to shake up the meta and introduce exciting new features to explore.

A recent announcement from the official Fortnite Status account on X confirmed that the patch will reintroduce several classic weapons alongside never-before-seen Sprites, additional loot hacks, and new overrides. Building heavily on this season’s core hacking mechanic, Epic Games is doubling down on the unique gameplay loops defining Chapter 7 Season 4. To keep the momentum going, the team has also detailed the roadmap for the season’s second week.

Following a familiar rhythm, Monday marks Cheat Code Day, while Saturday brings dedicated Power Hours. On Monday, users can easily track down superior Cheat Codes while earning double Sprite XP and Sprite Dust. Come Saturday, spawn rates will increase significantly for specific sprite variants, the 1Up token, and portable extractors. Replacing the anticipated New Sprite Day, Thursday officially brings Update Day. Here is everything slated for arrival:

Prominent data-miner Blortzen has noted that game files for the vaulted Typhoon Blade were recently updated, hinting at a potential return in the near future. However, given that Sora’s legendary blade is rumored to debut in a subsequent patch tied to the upcoming Kingdom Hearts crossover, the Typhoon Blade might simply be receiving a fresh coat of paint as the iconic Keyblade. Should this be the case, Epic Games has opted to keep the surprise under wraps rather than spoil it in the official roadmap.

The next major Fortnite update is locked in for Thursday, September 3. Scheduled server downtime is anticipated to begin between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM ET.
