Certain automobiles transcend their role as mere transportation, becoming enduring symbols of automotive history. Today, we are excited to showcase a true legend: the Ford Crown Victoria. This iconic sedan is currently being developed for our upcoming Road Trip project in American Truck Simulator.
To ensure the highest level of realism for the Road Trip expansion, we reached out to our community to find real-world examples of the featured vehicles. Our goal was to gather precise reference data and capture high-fidelity audio recordings. Marcel, a dedicated community member from Germany, stepped forward and graciously invited our team to document his personal vehicle in detail.
Marcel is the proud owner of a Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor. This former supervisor’s car still boasts the unmistakable characteristics that made the model a staple of American roads. For decades, the “Crown Vic” served as the definitive law enforcement cruiser and the ubiquitous yellow taxi found in every major city. Its silhouette is legendary, having played a starring role in countless films and television procedurals.
Thanks to Marcel’s enthusiasm and cooperation, we successfully recorded the car’s distinct engine notes and mechanical sounds. These authentic audio samples will be vital in bringing the Crown Victoria to life as we continue to polish the Road Trip project.
The Ford Crown Victoria will debut as part of the Ford Car Pack, giving players the opportunity to pilot this American classic across the digital highways of American Truck Simulator.
