Florence Pugh may appear in the new Spider-Man movie

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige appears to have inadvertently spoiled a major surprise for the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. During an appearance at the Bilibili World festival in Shanghai, the producer hinted that Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will make an appearance in the movie prior to the release of Avengers: Doomsday.

While discussing the character’s future, Feige noted that fans won’t need to wait until the December premiere of the next Avengers installment to see Yelena back in action. Since Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the only Marvel title scheduled for release before Doomsday, fans have interpreted his comments as a clear confirmation of a cameo by the new Avenger.

Should this turn out to be true, it will mark the first on-screen encounter between Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Yelena Belova. The film has already been confirmed to feature Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, alongside Jon Bernthal, who will be reprising his role as the Punisher.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31.
