Hardware maker Yoniq has shared exclusive photos of its upcoming dual-screen handheld console, the Yoniq Duo, giving retro gaming enthusiasts a detailed look at the device alongside an unannounced vertical system named the Yoniq Lite.

Yoniq provided the photos to gaming outlet Retro Dodo during Gamescom 2026. The Yoniq Duo appears to run on the company’s upcoming PantasOS operating system, which the developers describe as a custom “open gaming ecosystem built to unify devices, games, and experiences into one seamless platform.”

An information plaque shown next to the display unit confirmed that the Duo is an Android-based retro handheld. The card also lists “4x upscaling,” positioning the device as a direct competitor to the Anbernic RG DS.

The photos also revealed a previously unannounced vertical handheld named the Yoniq Lite, which had not appeared on the company’s official website or social channels. Yoniq representatives told Retro Dodo that the Lite is currently an early prototype as the team refines hardware specifications, leaving exact technical details unannounced for now.

Yoniq stated that it has access to established manufacturing resources and supply chains in China. While the team previously contributed to the development and manufacturing of third-party handhelds, this rollout marks its first direct-to-consumer launch under the Yoniq brand. The company noted that while its internal hardware engineering is mature, its dedicated marketing department is still ramping up.
