Modders behind the YouTube channel 5M Servers have announced an unofficial multiplayer project for Cyberpunk 2077, stating that they grew tired of waiting for other developers to create one.

Titled Cyberpunk Online Multiplayer Roleplay, the project has already reached a functional milestone. The modders reported that they have finished setting up the core framework alongside role-playing mechanics for the experience.

The current build features a player-owned shop system. Purchased items transfer directly to the buyer’s inventory, while shop owners must manage and restock their store supplies. Players will also be able to communicate via chat, customize their characters, and form gangs.

Cyberpunk Online Multiplayer Roleplay does not have an official release date yet. The creators plan to launch public testing soon and intend to release the source code for the core framework.

Another multiplayer mod for Cyberpunk 2077, CyberMP, remains in active development. Earlier this month, its development team shared a new progress report, demonstrating that their server setup can handle more than 50 players simultaneously.
