We know that Square Enix is actively crafting the third chapter. Back in May, game director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed to Nintendo Life that he had already powered through the game 40 times. He emphasized the team’s desire to maintain momentum, noting that they aim to bridge the narrative gaps between Remake, Rebirth, and the upcoming conclusion to ensure a seamless experience.

With the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth port hitting Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X on June 3, there is no better stage than SGF to unveil a trailer for the final entry. While the series was once a PlayStation staple, Hamaguchi confirmed last September that the third installment will launch on multiple platforms simultaneously, leaving the door wide open for an announcement during this week’s festivities.

But what will the final chapter actually be called? Our team here has brainstormed a few candidates, ranked from the unlikely to the plausible. We are fairly certain the title will adhere to the “RE” prefix pattern, though Square Enix is never one to shy away from a bold surprise.
