Free-to-Play Monster Hunter Outlanders Scheduled for Late October Mobile Release Alongside Gameplay Footage
A new project will bring classic Monster Hunter gameplay to mobile devices.
TiMi Studio Group and Capcom have announced the release date for Monster Hunter Outlanders, a mobile spin-off in the series. The game will launch on iOS and Android on October 29 as a free-to-play title, and pre-registration is already open on the App Store and Google Play.
Alongside the announcement, the developers released a four-minute gameplay trailer. Unlike Monster Hunter Now, which resembles Pokémon GO, Outlanders is a full-fledged spin-off that brings the original gameplay format to mobile platforms.
Set in the new Esoland region, the game tasks players with exploring the area and hunting large monsters either solo or in co-op for up to four players. At launch, seven weapon types familiar to the series will be available: the great sword, long sword, dual blades, hammer, lance, heavy bowgun, and bow. The developers plan to expand the arsenal and add new features later.
