Production has officially commenced on the latest installment of the “Sergey vs. Evil” series. The fifth season, subtitled “The Locust King,” is slated for a premiere on the KION streaming platform.
Roman Mayakin and Lukerya Ilyashenko return to lead the cast in a narrative that shifts the action to Kalmykia. Deeply rooted in regional folklore, the plot follows former monk Sergey and detective Katya as they finally track down their parents’ killer—the formidable archdemon Abaddon. The entity is cultivating a plague of hellish locusts within the Kalmyk steppes, forcing the duo into a high-stakes battle to avert a supernatural catastrophe.
Ilya Shekhovtsov (“Phantom”) takes the director’s chair for the new season, which also features supporting performances by Irina Rozanova, Artur Vakha, and Dmitry Kulichkov. Since its debut in 2022, “Sergey vs. Evil” has become a standout hit, earning significant acclaim from both audiences and critics alike.
