Fight Nazis with Friends in Modiphius’ Upcoming Wolfenstein TTRPG

Since its 2013 debut with Achtung! Cthulhu—a tactical blend of World War II espionage and cosmic horror—Modiphius Entertainment has become a powerhouse in the tabletop industry. The publisher has successfully adapted massive franchises like Fallout, Dune, and Discworld using its signature 2d20 engine. Now, Modiphius is returning to its roots of alternate-history warfare by developing a tabletop role-playing game based on MachineGames’ modern Wolfenstein series.

The Wolfenstein TTRPG is slated to begin its crowdfunding journey in the fall of 2026. Set within the grim reality of a world where the Axis powers emerged victorious, the game draws its primary inspiration from 2014’s The New Order and 2017’s The New Colossus. Players will step into the roles of desperate resistance fighters, utilizing experimental gadgets and devastating weaponry to reclaim a stolen world. The 2d20 system’s emphasis on cinematic, high-octane action makes it a natural fit for the franchise’s over-the-top combat style.

This expansion into the tabletop space comes at a busy time for the IP. MachineGames studio director Jerk Gustafsson has expressed a desire to conclude BJ Blazkowicz’s narrative arc with a final trilogy-capping title. Meanwhile, looking to replicate the cultural impact of the Fallout series, Amazon MGM Studios and Bethesda Softworks are currently working on a Wolfenstein television adaptation for Prime Video.
