Fans Vote JENNIE’s ‘Less Than a Lover’ as This Week’s Favorite New Music
Jennie Claims Victory on Billboard’s New Music Poll with “Less Than a Lover”

Jennie’s atmospheric summer anthem, “Less Than a Lover,” has officially dominated this week’s new music poll, capturing the hearts of listeners worldwide.
In a tight race published Friday (July 24) by Billboard, devoted fans voted the BLACKPINK powerhouse’s latest release as their absolute favorite drop of the week.
Securing an overwhelming 62% of the total vote by the time polls closed on Sunday, “Less Than a Lover” outpaced strong contenders from an array of talented artists, including KATSEYE, Macario Martinez, Tyla, Charli xcx, Fridayy, and Morgan Wallen.
Co-written and visually conceptualized by Jennie herself alongside director Chooey, the cinematic music video was shot against the sun-drenched backdrop of the Spanish coastline. Immersed in a hazy heatwave, the visual narrative follows a spirited young woman who is determined to outrun attachment and obligations, perfectly capturing a carefree mood of pure summertime liberation.
As the first major preview of her upcoming solo era, Jennie initially surprised fans by giving “Less Than a Lover” its energetic live debut during her Governors Ball set in New York City last June, cementing it as a fan-favorite fixture of her festival performances ever since.
This triumphant release follows closely on the heels of her massive Tame Impala collaboration, “Dracula,” which previously peaked at an impressive No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Following Jennie closely in this week’s reader rankings was KATSEYE with their hypnotic single “Animal” (claiming 24% of the vote), trailed by Macario Martinez’s evocative track “Estar Sin Ti,” Tyla’s acclaimed A*Pop album, and Charli xcx’s dynamic Music, Fashion, Film collection.
