Ariana Grande’s latest studio album, Petal, has emerged as the definitive fan favorite, capturing the top spot in this week’s new music poll.

Music enthusiasts cast their ballots following a Friday (July 31) release roundup on Billboard, crowning the pop icon’s eighth full-length LP as the standout project of the week.

Petal triumphed during a fiercely competitive cycle that featured fresh releases from heavyweights such as Cardi B, Davido, Slayyyter, and Shaboozey. The rollout also included collaborative efforts from Erick Brian, Dale Pututi & Nesty, as well as a star-studded track pairing Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez, and Becky G. By the time voting concluded on Sunday, Grande’s latest project commanded an impressive 41% of the total vote.

Grande surprised supporters by dropping the new album mid-run during her sprawling Eternal Sunshine Tour.

The record serves as the eagerly anticipated successor to 2024’s critically acclaimed Eternal Sunshine, a powerhouse release that dominated the Billboard 200 summit for three consecutive weeks.

Alongside the arrival of the 12-track project, Grande unveiled a darkly satirical music video. In the visual, she portrays “Pepper,” an actress desperately trying to measure up to relentless critics before finally snapping—with a little help from a chainsaw. The cinematic clip is set to the album’s title track, which functions as the second official single following her chart-topping Hot 100 smash, “Hate That I Made You Live Me.”

Over the weekend, sources reported that Grande plans to step away from the public eye for a well-deserved hiatus once her current tour concludes.

Rounding out the poll’s upper tier, the collaborative track “Efímero” by Erick Brian, Dale Pututi & Nesty secured second place with 26% of the vote, while Cardi B’s hard-hitting “AH HA” captured third place with 18%.
