As she prepares to grace the Marvel Cinematic Universe once more in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again, Jessica Jones is also reclaiming her throne in the comic book realm. Marvel has officially unveiled Alias: Red Band, a gritty five-issue limited series slated to launch on March 11, 2026.

The series, penned by Sam Humphries (New Avengers) and illustrated by Geraldo Borges (Thunderbolts), follows the cynical investigator as she stalks a serial killer through the shadows of Hell’s Kitchen. To bring the murderer to justice, Jessica must forge an uneasy alliance with the volatile Typhoid Mary, a character more often found at odds with Daredevil. “The real question is how they’ll manage to avoid killing each other long enough to solve the case,” Humphries remarked. “Five issues of therapy might make them friends, but that wouldn’t fit the ‘red band’ vibe, would it?”

Next year marks a quarter-century since Jessica Jones first broke onto the scene in the seminal Alias series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos. Transitioning from a failed superhero career to a world-weary private eye, Jessica’s journey has spanned titles like The Pulse and The Variants. This new chapter marks a return to her hard-boiled roots.

“Jessica Jones is a singular force—sharp, unapologetic, and relentlessly determined,” Humphries said. “Bendis and Gaydos created a character with a truly unique perspective on the superhero genre. I’m thrilled to push the boundaries of her world and see just how far she’s willing to go to close a case.”

By adopting the Red Band branding, this iteration of Alias will lean into mature themes and visceral content, echoing the R-rated atmosphere of the original MAX imprint. Humphries noted that the rating allows for a more authentic depiction of Jessica’s world. “It’s a rare chance to honor her gritty origins. Geraldo Borges is delivering some truly haunting imagery, and honestly, I’ve been waiting for the chance to let the characters speak their minds without filters for a long time.”

Alias: Red Band #1 hits shelves on March 11, 2026. Explore the official synopsis and a selection of covers from David Mack, Elena Casagrande, and Jeehyung Lee below.
