The third installment of the adventure franchise, “Enola Holmes,” has officially premiered on Netflix. Millie Bobby Brown, renowned for her breakout role in “Stranger Things,” reprises her portrayal of the iconic titular sleuth.
Early critical reception has been somewhat polarized, with the film currently holding a 64% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Adapted from Nancy Springer’s beloved book series, the third chapter follows the intrepid young detective—sister to the legendary Sherlock Holmes—as she journeys to the island of Malta. There, she encounters a perilous new mystery while navigating her upcoming nuptials to Lord Tewkesbury, played by Louis Partridge.
The ensemble cast also features the return of Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter, joined by Himesh Patel and others. Director Philip Barantini (known for “Boiling Point”) takes the helm for this entry. The “Enola Holmes” series first launched on Netflix in 2020, with the sequel following in 2022.
