Ellie Goulding is officially stepping into a fresh creative chapter. The singer-songwriter has unveiled plans for her sixth studio album, titled I Know Too Much.
The highly anticipated record is slated for a September 4 release via Polydor. Fans won’t have to wait long for a taste of the new sound, as the lead single, “Black Prada Dress,” is set to drop this Friday, June 5. While the complete tracklist remains under wraps, anticipation is already building.
Goulding treated attendees at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland last month to a live preview of the track. Following its digital release, she is scheduled to perform the song on the June 7 broadcast of Later… with Jools Holland on BBC Two.
I Know Too Much follows the success of 2023’s Higher Than Heaven. That project debuted atop the Official U.K. Albums Chart, cementing Goulding’s status alongside Adele as one of the British female solo artists with the most No. 1 albums in chart history.
Beyond her home turf, the 39-year-old artist remains a dominant force on the global stage. Her career is punctuated by major Billboard Hot 100 milestones, including the perennial hits “Lights” and “Love Me Like You Do,” alongside high-profile collaborations with industry heavyweights like Calvin Harris, Diplo, and Juice WRLD.
The new era arrives as Goulding enjoys a significant digital resurgence. Her breakout classic, “Starry Eyed,” recently climbed to the top of the TikTok Trending Audio chart. This unexpected viral momentum, fueled by fan-made edits and travel-inspired clips, has introduced her expansive catalog to a new generation of listeners.
Goulding’s recent track record remains stellar; her previous album included the chart-topping trance anthem “Miracle,” her third collaboration with Calvin Harris. That single not only secured her fourth U.K. No. 1 but also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording, solidifying her enduring influence in modern dance-pop.
